General Information

⏵ What is the purpose of the survey?

The purpose of the survey is to identify the changing demographic, socio-economic, and public health trends across the five-county, Greater Philadelphia region. The five-county region includes Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties. Better understanding these behaviors in the community is essential for enhancing and targeting service delivery for the most vulnerable and at-risk populations.

⏵ Who is conducting the survey?

The survey is being conducted by the research firm, Westat. You can find more information about them by clicking here.

⏵ Who is commissioning the survey?

The survey is being commissioned by the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia on behalf of Jewish organizations throughout the five-county, Greater Philadelphia region. You can find more information about Jewish Federation by clicking here.

⏵ How will I be notified that my household has been selected to complete the survey?

Households that have been randomly selected to participate in the survey will be notified with a letter sent via USPS. In addition, you may receive follow-up communications or reminders by email if you provide a valid email address.

⏵ Why was I selected to participate in this survey?

Respondents were randomly selected from addresses in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties that were provided by the United States Postal Service.

⏵ I did not receive a notification that my household has been selected. Can I take the survey anyway?

Unfortunately, only households that have been randomly selected will be eligible to take this survey.

⏵ I received a letter in the mail, but it wasn’t addressed to me or the person it was addressed to doesn't live here. Can I take the survey?

Yes. If you are the current resident at the address listed on the letter, you may complete the survey.


Accessibility

⏵ Will the survey be available in other languages?

The survey will be also available in Russian.

⏵ Can I take the survey on my laptop or smart phone?

The survey can be opened and competed on-line using a desktop, laptop or smart device.

⏵ How do I complete the survey if I do not have access to a computer or smart device?

Individuals who do not have access to a computer or smart device can select to complete a paper copy of the survey or complete the survey via phone by following the instructions in your notification letter.

⏵ Can someone complete the survey on my behalf?

If you are unable to take the survey yourself, you may designate an individual to complete the survey on your behalf.

⏵ Who do I contact if I have technical difficulties with the survey?

Taking the Survey

⏵ How long will the survey take to complete?

Depending on the size and make-up of your household, the survey should take 20 - 25 minutes to complete.

⏵ What if I don’t understand or do not want to answer a survey question?

At any time during the survey, you can skip any question on the survey that you do not understand or do not want to answer.

⏵ Is there an incentive for taking the survey?

Individuals will be given $1 for completing the survey screener. Households that are eligible and complete the main interview will be given the choice of receiving a $10 check or e-gift card.

⏵ Can I start and stop the survey and save my progress?

If you cannot complete the survey once you have started it, you will be able to save your progress. You can return to the survey on any device and complete it at a later time using your unique access code.

⏵ Can I change my responses after submitting my survey?

Once you have submitted your survey, you will not be able to go back in and change any of your answers. Please review your responses for accuracy before moving on to the next page.

Confidentiality

⏵ Are my survey responses confidential?

Westat has created a survey process that protects your survey data and only project staff will have access to the survey data. All survey data is confidential and no identifying information will be reported. If you have any questions regarding the security of confidentiality of your information, please contact Westat at (855) 236-5026.

⏵ How will the survey data be used?

Survey data will be used to provide a profile of the community to support programming for at-risk and vulnerable populations. Survey results will never be examined at the individual level. All data will only be examined at the aggregate level.
